Terms & Conditions

By creating an account, registering a family or candidate profile, registering as a matchmaker, or otherwise using Khandaan (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise lawfully residing in or intending to reside in Australia. By registering, you represent that all information you provide — including on behalf of a family member — is accurate and that you have the authority to create a profile for that person.

Khandaan asks for a government-issued ID (an Australian driver's licence or passport) to open a family or matchmaker account. This is a basic fraud-deterrence check, not a comprehensive background check. Beyond confirming a document was submitted, Khandaan does not independently verify the accuracy of profile information (age, occupation, income, education, marital status, residency status, professional registration, or any other self-reported detail). You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, and you should exercise your own judgment — and your family's judgment — before relying on any profile detail.

You agree not to: harass, threaten, or abuse another user or their family; misrepresent your identity, age, marital status, or any material profile detail; use the Platform for commercial solicitation unrelated to matchmaking; or attempt to bypass the family-mediated, credit-gated introduction process. Khandaan is built around family-to-family and matchmaker-mediated communication — it is not a general-purpose messaging or dating app, and behaviour typical of dating apps (e.g. mass, indiscriminate outreach) is not permitted.

Khandaan handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). See the Privacy Policy for what we collect, how it is stored, and how to request access or deletion.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” Khandaan does not guarantee that any introduction will result in a successful match, marriage, or relationship, and is not responsible for the conduct of any user, family, or matchmaker on or off the Platform. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Khandaan's liability for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia where applicable. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation, and, failing resolution, will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

Khandaan may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, provides fraudulent ID or profile information, or is reported for harassment or misconduct, with or without notice. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support.

Khandaan may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
